Earmark ban Fails, Would have had Devastating Impact on Projects for Houston
WASHINGTON: U.S. Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison (R-TX), Texas's senior Senator and a member of the Senate Appropriations Committee, today did not support an amendment to the 2009 federal budget that could have imposed a one year ban on congressionally directed federal funding for local projects, also known as earmarks.
